Video Production Studios
CLA-OIT Video Services (formerly Studio-B) provides students with a hands-on “real-world” experience. Some highlights from the past year:
- CLA-OIT Video Services currently serves approximately 160 to 200 students in 13 classes per week.
- The staff includes four full-time professionals and 15 to 20 student technicians.
- Expanded the field production equipment loaner pool to more than ten times its original size.
The recent initiatives listed below are products of collaborations and the result of needs expressed by CLA students and units:
- Media Mill – a collaborative and archival Internet multimedia tool
- Minnesota Broadcaster association’s Access Minnesota – an information news magazine produced in our studios and broadcasted around the state.
- On-location video field production – creating media assets for documentation, instruction, departmental recruitment and promotion on DVDs and CLA web sites.
- Videoconferencing – adding videoconferencing equipment to Jones Hall to support the CIC CourseShare initiative.
- A number of students and former students won local and national video contests
