Digital Content Library
The VRC/DCL Visual Resource Center took a big leap forward this year with the long-awaited launch of the Digital Content Library. The accessibility of the Digital Content Library has generated much excitement, and has helped to improve the overall teaching and educational experience in the following ways:
- Over 100,000 objects are now available to be used by the faculty, students and staff at the University of Minnesota.
- This project was partnered with the College of Design, which increased intercollegiate cooperation.
- Provides exceptional quality, accessibility, and accuracy of information.
- Access to the DCL allows faculty to show a variety of formats in class without having to switch from VCRs, CD players and slide projectors.
- X.500 authentication password protection insures that copyrights are protected, while making it much easier to make the materials accessible.
- The DCL is now currently serving 18 CLA departments and units and are expanding access to the Duluth campus
- The DCL provides a secure, well-documented, searchable repository of images, audio files, and video files for use by all faculty, students and staff.
